Ellie + Brent - A Washington DC Proposal and Engagement Session at the National Mall || Best Wedding Photographers in Washington DC

Where do I begin?
Brent reached out to me, excited about proposing to Ellie, he had been planning this for a while and wanted it to go down without a hitch; it had to be a perfect surprise. As you may know it's Cherry Blossom Festival time in DC and where did Brent pick as the location for this covert operation? You guessed it, the National Mall.

Goal
To creatively & artistically document a proposal privately in a not so private location at one of the busiest times of the year, while remaining undetected by Ellie and keeping the crowds out of the photo's.

Challenges
Massive crowds, harsh sunlight & parking lol. I hadn't met Brent and had to identify them from a distance. I wasn't sure exactly where he was going to do it, my cue was he would hold both her hands, but once we got closer to the location it became pretty obvious to me. This was so much fun, it really did feel like a military operation. Turns out Brent is actually in the Navy.

Here is their Proposal.

I guaranteed Brent that the last photo would not make it to the blog.. but honestly It just shows how much fun they are and I had to include it!

Jazmyn + Marcus - A Washington DC Proposal and Engagement Session || Washington DC Wedding Photographers

Everytime I participate in one of these I am reminded of how important love is. Being able to document these special moments in peoples lives is a blessing as I get to witness and participate in that defining moment in their lives. I met up with Marcus in DC for a surprise that he had been planning for Jazmyn for quite sometime. She had no idea, how her life was about to change. I had no idea how mine was too after I saw that ring!

In The Year Two Thousand & Fourteen..... || Best Wedding Photographers in Washington DC

2014 has been a great year for me, it's been filled with exponential growth, lots of hardwork, perseverance and continuous dwelling outside of my comfort zone. I have learned more about myself this year than any combination of years before it. I have worked with exceptional clients and have created some of the best imagery I've ever created in my life. And for all this I am very grateful. Here is a brief recap of some of my favorite photos of the year. They include weddings, portraiture, street photography, events and travel. Can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for all of us!
